Just call me the President!!!

Well, Its official, I am now the President of Graduate Student Union for the School of Intercultural Studies here at Fuller Theological Seminary!!! (Well, ok, Its actually not official until next week, but considering that no one is really running against me, I think I pretty much have the victory in the bag!) Today I graced the fuller common area known as the Garth with a five minute speech about my vision and goal for the Student Union. So really, its not that big of a deal. I get to work in what is student government, planning events, going to meetings with the faculty and learning a lot about working on a team and what that looks like. I think I am in for a wild ride, but since it is an actual job I can earn some extra cash for school and gain experience will help me later in life, I am gratful for the opportunity to serve and learn!(Especially with my VP Lea in the pic with me!) I gave a riveting speech, at least thats what my friend who was one of the twenty in the audience had to say. :) It really wasn't that big of a deal, but it was fun anyways. In celebration or rather an excuse to go do something fun, my friends and I went out bowling tonight! Let me tell you it was a hoot and a half. I managed to pull off a victory in the first game with a score of 102 and was much lower the second game. ( I can't remember what the score even was...doesn't matter) I thought though that you might enjoy some of the fun pictures of the evening.
Beyond all the crazy stuff, my life has been moving pretty fast lately. I finished my last quater on the 16th of March. I printed off my last 15 page paper at about 2:00 am and was picked up by friend Holly at about 4:00 am the same morning/ evening to make it to the airport in time for my flight home. My parents blessed me by purchasing a ticket for me as a birthday present. It was so good to be home. I was able to connect with a bunch of people, baby sit my cousins, run along the beach in training for my half marathon, hang with my really cool cousins, see my Aunt Jane whom I haven't seen for a couple years, and I even got to go to Franks several times. Time was well spent with my Bro's Sis-in-law, parents and lil bro's girlfriend and we even got in a little sibling wrestling which is always fun!!Though Michigan hadn't quite hit spring yet and was still in its kind of ugly stage, it was great to get to spend so much quality time with my family and friends.
Since being back though, I have been hit with the craziness of a whole new set of classes. I really love it though and am so excited to see what God is going to teach me during this quarter. I have also been planning for the summer... It is going to be interesting. I told some of my friends and family that I was possibly going to Africa to work in orphanages of kids whose parents have died of HIV/AIDS. However, I am praying about the possibility of taking on a different opportunity that seems to fit my talents and gifts better. You will never ever guess... I might be going to.... dum dum dum, drum roll please.... Athens, Greece!!! I talked with someone who knows of a church who does sports camps thourhout the summer as a form of outreach with the church. I would work in this church for about six weeks, teaching volleyball, building relationships, sharing Jesus with people, learning culture and language, and even helping out with the church youth group. I am really excited about this opportunity because it seems to fit many of the passions I feel God has placed within me. It amazes me. Sometimes as a Christian, I begin to think that God can only use me certain ways but then I take a step back and look at who this God really is. This God is one who cares so deeply. He is creative and has designed each of us so so uniquely, so why would I assume that I had to be like everyone else in terms of ministry and what he has called me to. He has a plan that is specific for me, because he designed me for it. I am so excited to see how God is going to bring this about. I love to see God at work. He is a creative loving God who delights in his children! So I'm fired up to see what all God is going to bring! He is amazing!
So here I am on a Thursday evening, writing about God's goodness praying that we see it vividly within the everyday, everyday! Thanks for your love and support, prayers and thoughts!
Blessings and Fire up!!!
