Hopping the Pond Again!!

In about 4 days...I am leaving for Portugal and Spain!!! Can you believe it? After all this time of just chilling out at home, I finally know what the next step is! Don't be alarmed, I am only going for a visit. I am staying for a total of 19 days and will be visiting both Lisbon, Portugal and Madrid,Spain! The last blog I posted was on my birthday March 4th, and in that blog I had just finished writing about how I still had no clue what was next for me. Well, later that same day I received a phone call from Christian Associates International, the missions organization I had applied to. They told me that they were considering three possible options for my placement. One of them being in Lisbon and the other two being two different churches in Madrid. Christian Associates is a missions organization that focuses on church planting in Europe. They are really into exploring new and creative ways of building relationships and sharing the Gospel which is essential to ministry in Europe. I really resonate with their philosophy of ministry and have connected with a few different people from the organization. After hearing about my possible options, one of the missionaries in Lisbon, who was one of my friends at Fuller, suggested that I come for a visit to check out the options. So a week after having heard the possible placements, I booked a flight. Since I have recently taken on the job of JV soft ball coach at my old high school, I decided that the best time for me to leave would be over Spring Break. So... on the 27th of March I leave for Lisbon. I will be there for about a week before flying to Madrid. I then will come back to Lisbon for a day and a half and fly back to Grand Rapids! I am so excited! My prayer for this trip is that I will be able to sense where God is calling me for the next two years of my life. I hope that while there I will be an encouragement to the missionaries as well! I really don't know what exactly I'll be doing during this trip, but I look forward to meeting the CA staff in these locations and exploring what God might have for me there! After I return on the 14th of April I will post another blog to let you know how it went as well as include pictures of the adventure! I would appreciate prayers for safe travel and discernment during the next few weeks to months!
